Abstract Submission Rules & Guidelines

The Scientific Committee invites participants to submit their abstracts of original research works and case reports for oral/ E-poster presentation. Such work should be the result of original work and approved by your institution for presentation.

1. Types of presentation

1.1 Authors can submit papers under any one or more of the following two categories:

  • Research Paper: Such papers are based on observations of records of number of similar cases and attempting to draw conclusion and/or finding causal relationships in the given scenario.
  • Case Report / Case Series: Such papers should be based on records of a case study actually observed or analysed. It should highlight the procedure used, shortcoming or suggested improvement to improve the outcome.

1.2 Authors

  • 1.2.1 There can be more than one author for papers submitted.
  • 1.2.2 Correspondence will be done with first authors only.
  • 1.2.3 All presenting authors will have to register for the conference.
  • 1.2.4 If the presenting participant is an Under graduate MBBS students or intern doctors they will be given a certificate of participation without any GMC credit hours as per GMC rules & regulations.

1.3 Theme of the 12th GUJARAT CRITICON 2026: Connecting the dots..... into a lifeline

1.4 Unique abstract, selected by Scientific committee after reviewing all the submitted abstracts - will be invited to do oral paper presentation in the auditorium hall during the conference. Selected participants will be contacted AFTER 31st August, 2026 and asked to submit 2 minutes of videos of their presentation. once the video is received, the Scientific committee will do the FINAL SELECTION of participants for the oral paper presentation based on their overall content and oratory skills.

2. Important Dates:

  • 2.1 Abstract Submission Open Date: 1th April, 2026
  • 2.2 Abstract Submission Deadline: 15th August, 2026
  • 2.3 Paper & E-Poster Submission Deadline: 15th September, 2026

3. How to submit abstracts:

  • 3.1 Kindly do your registration of conference.
  • 3.2 Login using the link or QR code indicated in conference or website.
  • 3.3 Abstracts send by post will not be accepted.

4. Abstract Receipt Confirmation:

  • 4.1 Confirmation of submission will be acknowledged by e-mail.
  • 4.2 Lack of confirmation will indicate that the abstract was not received.

5. Notification of Abstract Acceptance

  • 5.1 The presenting author of each Abstract accepted for presentation by the Scientific committee will be informed by e-mail.
  • 5.2 If the presenting author is unable to present the abstract, a co-author can take his/her place. An e-mail letter from the presenting author informing about the change is requested and must be received by Conference Secretariat by 25th September, 2026.

6. Guidelines for Abstract

  • 6.1 An abstract should not contain more than 250 words.
  • 6.2 Tables and / or pictures cannot be inserted in the abstract.
  • 6.3 All abstracts must be written in english.
  • 6.4 Titles should not contain more than 20 words. No abbreviations are to be used in the titles.

8. E-Poster Presentation Guidelines

8.1 Contact & Structure

  • 8.1.1 The poster should include sections such as Title, Introduction, Aim, Methods, Results, Conclusion, and Acknowledgements.
  • 8.1.2 Content should be concise, self-explanatory, and well organized.

8.2 Format & Layout

  • 8.2.1 The e-poster must be in landscape format (16:9).
  • 8.2.2 Use clear fonts and readable text sizes suitable for digital display.

8.3 Presenter Details

  • 8.3.1 Include the name of the presenter, affiliated institution, and contact details.
  • 8.3.2 This information should preferably be placed in a box in the top-left corner.

9.2 Technical Requirements

  • 9.2.1 File format must be PowerPoint (PPT/PPTX/Keynote).
  • 9.2.2 Slides must be in landscape format (16:9).

9.3 Display & Readability

  • 9.3.1 Use recommended font sizes (Title: 32 pt, Body: 28 pt, Secondary: 18 pt).
  • 9.3.2 Prefer a light (white) background for better clarity.

Important Instructions for Participants

  • Conference registration is mandatory for all participants presenting oral papers or e-posters.
  • Submission of the abstract, as well as the paper and e-poster (after abstract acceptance), must be completed through the conference portal using the QR code or provided link after login and conference registration.
  • The presenter must be present during the evaluation to explain the e-poster to the judges.
  • Each presentation will be 7 minutes followed by 3 minutes of discussion.
  • Presentations must be compatible with the conference audiovisual system; content clearly visible on a standard computer screen should display properly on the projection and e-poster screens.
  • Bring a backup copy on a USB drive.

Prizes

  1. First, second, third and participation certificate will be awarded separately for oral and poster presentation.
  2. All prizes may not be awarded in all categories if suitable entries are not found.
  3. The Scientific committee's decision regarding the acceptance of abstracts & award of prizes shall be final.
